Becky Mirza

Becky joined UC Merced in 2012 and is currently the Assistant Director for International Students and Scholars. She provides expertise on study-based and employment visas, and a wide range of services to international students, scholars, faculty, staff including those that relate to visas and immigration, cultural and inter-cultural matters, and academic progress. In addition to her 20 years in international education, she holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science that focused on social and international politics. Her passion for growth, learning and empowering others led her to complete a master’s degree in Education Leadership. Becky energetically believes in the mission of international education and its ability to broaden perspectives, stimulate an awareness of differences and foster the crucial need for cultural understanding.
